About

Encara provides mobile allied health services for adults, the elderly and people with disabilities. Encara is a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) registered provider. We help people and improve lives. We have a focus on people with injury, illness, pain and disability. National physiotherapy, podiatry, occupational therapy, dietetic and speech pathology services. We deliver services under various funding streams, such as NDIS Home Care Packages; Commonwealth Home Support Programmes; DVA and Medicare; and Private Health Insurers. Services we offer include Physiotherapy; Occupational Therapy; Podiatry; Speech Pathology; and Dietetics. About Encara was created by Peter O’Brien and Bradley Packer. They studied a Bachelor of Physiotherapy together at the University of Queensland. After working across a variety of industries, they focused on the aged and community care sectors. At the time, very few therapists recognised the great career opportunities available in aged care. It’s over 15 years later and a lot has changed! Growing numbers of skilled therapists are enjoying successful careers in the aged and community care space. We’re proud that Encara offers progressive career opportunities to all members of our allied health and administrative teams.

Your questions, answered

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

To be eligible for the NDIS, individuals must be under the age of 65, be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa, and have a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to participate in everyday activities.

Your NDIS plan revolves around your personal life goals and aspirations. It is crafted based on the information you share during your planning session with your Local Area Coordinator (LAC). Within your plan, you will find a breakdown of the various supports required to help you reach your goals, along with the specific funding allocated to each support category.

Your NDIS plan is tailored to your needs and is reviewed regularly to ensure it continues to meet your changing circumstances and goals.

The NDIS can be difficult to navigate, it's important that you prepare and seek out assistance during your application process.

For more details, see our step by step guide by visting https://www.ndis.gov.au/applying-access-ndis/how-apply.

The NDIS requires service providers to register with them to allow for direct invoicing claims for NDIA-managed clients. However, not all providers opt for registration, meaning there could be a suitable unregistered provider out there that can offer you supports. Access to these unregistered providers is only available if you self-manage your funds or have a Plan Manager.
